This course is for anyone who has a desire to merge their love of healing with their love of astrology. This course is perfect for people in the complementary medicine field, including: acupuncturists, herbalists, Reiki practitioners, yoga teachers/therapists, hypnotherapists, and bodyworkers. This course is also appropriate for medical professionals who want to explore astrological perspectives on health and wellness.
Upon successful completion of year one of this program, students will have all the tools they need in order to begin a professional practice of natal-based medical astrology assessment. They will also be able to cast horary charts that support them in their medical astrology work, enabling them to provide a more comprehensive service to their clients.
Students wishing to further advance their skills are encouraged to do so in our Year 2 program, that focuses largely on predictive work, as well as Uranian Astrology and Cosmobiology techniques.Â
This is the beginning of our medical astrology program. After completing our Foundations of Classical Astrology (FOCA) program, students who want to root their natal practice primarily in medical astrology begin their journey here. This course provides students an in-depth understanding of human anatomy and physiology for the purpose of more fully understanding the astrological correspondences with the human body. Students will also learn traditional approaches to psychological astrology in order to understand the person behind the health concerns they may be faced with.

Students expand their skills and abilities through a broad selection of client case studies. Students learn to apply the OSA Medical Astrology Rubric for the purpose of compiling all the indicators of health and vitality from the client’s natal chart. In this semester, students will specifically focus on pathologies that occur within the regions of the body that correspond with the cardinal signs of the zodiac.Students will also receive an in-depth training in concrete, event-based natal astrology so that they can frame their medical astrology assessment within a comprehensive natal reading.
This course is for students who have successfully completed Year 1 of our Medical Astrology program. Only students who have completed the full syllabus of training for Year 1 of our program are eligible to participate in these second year studies.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive the OSA Medical Astrology Certificate. Successful graduates will be equipped with all the assessment and predictive tools to launch into a full and comprehensive practice of medical astrology client work and research. Students will be given additional resources so that they can diversify their medical astrology offerings with complementary medicine tools and systems.
Our most advanced students now begin exploring the transits, secondary directions, and solar arc directions through the graphic ephemeris and the dials. Students learn how to apply these skills broadly across all areas of the client’s life, with a specific emphasis on medical astrology.
Upon completing their studies, students enter the field as practicing medical astrologers. During their practicum, they will have the opportunity to be mentored as a group on various issues or concerns that may arise during their clientwork. Students are also expected to conduct a medical astrology research on a certain pathology and prepare to present their research in their 2-part Certification exam.
Upon completing their practicum, students will take two exams in order to demonstrate the full scope of their learning at OSA. The first exam is a live demonstration of a client session in which they will demonstrate their natal and predictive skills within the context of medical astrology.
The second portion of the exam will be a demonstration of their research on a particular pathology. Students will be expected to give an overview of that pathology, the body systems it impacts, what their astrological hypothesis was entering the research, and what their findings were after their research was completed. Students are expected to have a sample size of at least 10 case studies.
Upon successful completion of both exams, students will receive the OSA Medical Astrology Certificate.
